Public modesty

10.29. – An odalisque's right to public modesty

An odalisque has a right to public modesty and shall not be required to perform sex acts in public places or be made notorious in public view.

Odalisque slavery happens in a private world. An odalisque is held in a state called “occlusion”, which means she is a captive, hidden from the world. She is to be enjoyed by her Keeper in private. She is a thing of mystery. She is kept secret, enjoyed behind closed doors.

This means that an odalisque should not be used for public display. She has a right to public modesty. She cannot be made to perform sex acts in public places or in public view. “Occlusion” means private. Sluts and whores are public women. An odalisque is a creature of the shadows, kept in a clandestine world of debauched but very private hedonism.

By extension, an odalisque is not a porn star and is not used for the production of pornography. As the Code says, she cannot “be made notorious in public view” – a prohibition that includes being “made notorious” through pornography. A Slavekeeper cannot turn his odalisque into a prostitute, and nor can he turn her into a porn star or exploit her to make money through pornography. Her right to live out of public view – a secret life far from prying and moralistic eyes – is fundamental. An odalisque, by definition, lives in a secret, private world.
