Code d’ Odalisque, in theory and in practice, is constructed upon some careful distinctions. Such as:
Freewoman - slave
Odalisque – memlook
Slave – slut – whore
Occlusion – sojourn
Bonded – Unbonded
Shod – discalced
The Code is designed to emphasize and maintain these distinctions. This is why there are rules. A slave is forbidden to act like a freewoman, for example. We keep a careful distinction between when a slave is in occlusion and when she is on sojourn. We do not treat an odalisque like a low slave (memlook). A slave is not a slut and not a whore. A freewoman is shod (wears shoes) but slaves are barefoot.
If you keep these distinctions in mind you will find that the provisions of Code d’ Odalisque – in theory and practice – are easy, natural and logical.
