Code d’ Odalisque, in theory and in practice, is constructed upon some careful distinctions. Such as:
Freewoman - slave
Odalisque – memlook
Slave – slut – whore
Occlusion – sojourn
Bonded – Unbonded
Shod – discalced
The Code is designed to emphasize and maintain these distinctions. This is why there are rules. A slave is forbidden to act like a freewoman, for example. We keep a careful distinction between when a slave is in occlusion and when she is on sojourn. We do not treat an odalisque like a low slave (memlook). A slave is not a slut and not a whore. A freewoman is shod (wears shoes) but slaves are barefoot.
If you keep these distinctions in mind you will find that the provisions of Code d’ Odalisque – in theory and practice – are easy, natural and logical.

A creative endeavour
I like many aspects of Code d’ Odalisque, but I find it too specific. I like to do things my way.
Code d’ Odalisque is made available for free. People are free to take or leave whatever they like. Code d' Ode is a free gift. We do not prosecute copyright with packs of vicious lawyers - its not Scientology! The complete Code along with a lot of supporting material is available for free to anyone who wants it. Code d' Ode operates in a spirit of charity, its economic aspects literally so.
There are many worthwhile aspects of the Code – the grading system, the slave postures, the system of etiquette, as well as the philosophy and ideals. People are free to take whatever elements of the Code they like, just as they are free to adapt the Code to their circumstances. The Code is comprehensive and internally coherent, but it is always possible to take some things from it while leaving others. Indeed, we hope that Code d’ Odalisque has a stimulating and positive influence upon a wide range of people, especially people in the BDSM sub-culture.
All the same, Code d’ Odalisque has a special mission to submissive women that sets it apart from ordinary BDSM – it seeks to offer submissive women an alternative to S & M and drudgery. It seeks to reinstitute the role of “odalisque” – the dedicated pleasure slave. The Code offers a complete restoration of consensual odalisque slavery and serves as a foundation for a distinct odalisque slave culture. While many people are eclectic, some people are purists. The codifications of Code d’ Odalisque offer a formal ideal. The objective is to build a community of players dedicated to that ideal and living that ideal.
You can get a free copy of the fifth edition of Code d’ Odalisque by writing to: bedroomslaves@yahoo.com
You are invited to embrace the ideals of the slave code and to join us in creating a vital community of the odalisque slave lifestyle. Otherwise, feel free to take ideas and to adapt them to your purposes. It is always a creative endeavour.

The intelligent woman
Question: If an odalisque is to be completely focused upon cock and is to make herself just a passive cunt to be used by her Master, is the role only suited to brainless bimbos? What about women with a brain? It seems like odalisques are expected to be dumb, silent and stupid.
The odalisque has a carefully defined role. Her role is to be a pleasure slave. Her purpose is to be a compliant, willing fuckpuppet for her Keeper. When she is not actively providing sexual pleasure to her Master, her job is to be a beautiful, erotic ornament to his life. In this one-dimensional role she is distinguished from low slaves, because she does not work, and – as a slave – she is not a freewoman, a girlfriend or a wife either. A man does not purchase an odalisque for intellectual stimulation or emotional support. He owns an odalisque for the purposes of sexual adventure. That is the whole reason odalisques exist.
This does not mean that an odalisque is necessarily dumb or brainless. She need not be a bimbo. Educated, intelligent women might find fulfillment in the odalisque’s role too – but not intellectual fulfillment. A woman should not become an odalisque expecting it to be intellectually stimulating. That would be to misconstrue the whole purpose of odalisque slavery and the nature of the odalisque’s life. But there is no reason why a woman cannot find intellectual fulfillment additional to her role as odalisque.
An odalisque is a sexual slave. Sex is her work. The odalisque’s work is not intellectual at all. We should not confuse an odalisque with a courtesan or geisha. She is not expected to sit and discuss politics, diplomacy and philosophy with her Keeper. She is a slave, a captive sex slave. An odalisque does not need a great mind anymore than a prostitute needs a PhD. Put plainly, her job is to fuck. That’s all. But within the scope of an odalisque’s life there is ample room for a woman to pursue her intellectual interests additional to this. The only proviso is: These interests should not intrude into her job as odalisque. A man does not need an odalisque who is too cerebral, too complicated.
A Keeper meets his intellectual and emotional needs through other women: wife, girlfriend, colleague, friends. But a wise Slavekeeper will nevertheless allow an odalisque with brains to keep her intellectual interests on the side, according to her natural capacities. Becoming an odalisque should not be like having a lobotomy. When a woman becomes an odalisque she is not expected to become brain-dead. If she is smart, then that is her nature, and she should be trained and used and kept according to her nature.
When she is actively serving her Master, there is no virtue in her being smart. It is best, then, if she is single-focused, obsessive, uncomplicated, non-cerebral. When she is serving her Master – when she is worshipping cock - she is in “the zone”, mesmerized by lust, absorbed. An odalisque’s role is physical. But she may use her mind at other times.
In some ways the (full-time) odalisque’s life is almost monastic. The odalisque will enjoy a large amount of time in quiet seclusion. There is ample time for reading, study, thought, meditation. Indeed, some women might use their time in occlusion as a chance to complete a course of on-line study. For a woman who enjoys quiet reading and study, a contemplative existence away from the bustle of the world, an odalisque’s life as captive slave could be ideal.
For company, an odalisque can maintain intellectually stimulating discourse with her Overmistress and – with her Keeper’s permission – others too.
As long as she does not let mental clutter and distractions interfere with her duties to her Master, namely her duty to be a compliant and willing one-dimensional puppet in his sexual fantasies.
The training of an odalisque teaches her how to focus her thoughts into an obsessive monomania, phallic obsessions. She must learn how to put her heart and mind into her service. And her mind should not be undisciplined. This is the danger with intelligent women. Their mind will wander, cogitate, theorize, construct narratives. And this interferes with an odalisque’s ability to be in the “now”, present. In the case of an intelligent woman, slave training will need to teach her how to stop intellectualizing, how to turn the ratiocinative mind off. Intellectual people face the same problem when they try to learn meditation. Often, they do not make good meditators. They think too much. Thinking too much is a flaw in an odalisque.
But no, she need not be a bimbo. There is no reason why highly intelligent women cannot be odalisques. They don’t need to deny their intelligence, as long as they understand that the odalisque’s role is not intellectual and as long as they can put their intellectualizing aside when they are in the throes of sexual service. Intelligent women should use the institution of odalisque to the advantage of their nature. They provide sexual service to their Master and they use the solitude of captivity (occlusion) as an opportunity for reading and study.

Contract of Submission - example
By a written Contract of Submission a freewoman becomes an odalisque. A basic example of such a contract is included in Code d' Odalisque. The contract declares the woman's intention to become an odalisque, and it sets out her "hard limits" - the non-negotiable aspects of her slavery. Here is another example of a Contract of Submission:
To all whom it may concern.
Look upon me with pity! how I am overcome with cocklust! how my obsessions have at last reduced me to this pathetic and wanton creature, groveling and begging to be used! I am helpless against my passions. It has come to this! All I can do is surrender. Otherwise, I will never be content.
Therefore, by this contract I, Miss Julie Jones, do surrender myself into sexual service as an obedient, compliant odalisque – a willing cockslave - from this day, January 1st 2010, until the dawn of January 1st 2016.
I do, of my own will, in full consent, and driven by an inner compulsion, give myself into sexual slavery, to serve and worship cock, and agree to be traded, trained and enjoyed under the rules and codifications of Code d’ Odalisque. I claim all the rights of an odalisque under the provisions of the Code.
I shall go naked into occlusion, a captive of lust. I will obey my Keeper and serve his bed. I will be the woman of his fantasies, mirror of his dreams. I claim fellatrice as my special skill and offer my mouth to his service.
I ask that I be spared from pain and torture and that I not be treated like a low slave. I ask that I be kept from toil and that I be preserved unblemished, protected and safe at all times.
It is a condition of my contract that my Keeper allows me to continue with my home studies by electronic correspondence.
It is a condition of my contract that my Keeper does not ever loan me to a Guestmaster but is always present himself if ever he wishes me to serve guests.
It is a condition of my contract that I will not by subjected to anal penetration in any circumstances.
I appoint [Sally Brown] as my Overmistress throughout the duration of my slavery.

Networking
3.2 - The Role of an Advocate or Slavetrader
Contracts, trade, economy and other legal and technical aspects of this Code are administered by a non-sexual player called an Advocate or Slavetrader. An Advocate will usually be a mature male with a deep knowledge of this Code and a deep commitment to the principles of consent, safety and legality.
Networking is an important part of Code d' Odalisque. Many couples might choose to indulge in odalisque slavery as a private arrangement, but the Code encourages networks of players - it is important that players form connections with other players and that a Code community develops. In part, this is for safety considerations. There is safety in numbers. Abuses and problems tend to arise among isolated rogues - in a network of players it is easier to identify abusers and dangerous situations. If a couple are serious about forming a Keeper/odalisque relationship then it is time they involved other people. For a start, an odalisque can have an Overmistress – an independent freewoman who will look out for her interests. And, usually, an odalisque is a treasure to be shared. A man who owns an odalisque will usually share her with a circle of friends. Code d’ Odalisque is a pro-social code that promotes a culture of odalisque slavery.
The legal features of the Code promote “triangulation”. All contracts need to be signed by three persons – the Master, the slave and a witness. “Triangulation” is the principle that as soon as there are two, there needs to be three. As soon as a couple start indulging in odalisque slave play they should reach out to a third party – someone to witness their contracts.
The role of community-building, networking and the cultivation of an odalisque “scene” is that of the Slavetrader (also called an ‘Advocate”). The Slavetrader is a facilitator. His job is to help others get together for odalisque slave play under Code d’ Odalisque. A Slavetrader promotes Code d’ Ode, locates and advises odalisques and helps Slavekeepers find slaves. He creates and maintains networks. His duties are set out in the relevant sections of the Code. His most immediate duty is to be witness to contracts.
The best way to build a local scene of Code d’ Odalisque slave play is for someone to take on the role of Slavetrader. The Trader is an advocate for Code d’ Ode. The Trader is, in effect, the local network man.

A creature of the night
11.23. - A creature of the night.
An odalisque is a creature of the night. A Keeper shall not make her a creature of the daylight like a memlook.
Code d’ Odalisque is based upon some careful distinctions. An odalisque is not a whore, not a slut, not a freewoman. And she is not a memlook. That is, she is not a low slave. The provisions of the Code are designed to reinforce these distinctions. Anything that might confuse an odalisque with a whore, or a slut or a freewoman or a memlook is to be avoided. For example, an odalisque should not be dressed like a whore. Nor should she be dressed like a common worker (a memlook). In her habits and manners she should always be careful not to act like a slut or a whore or a freewoman or a memlook. She must be careful to stay within the defined limits of the odalisque’s role.
One thing that distinguishes an odalisque from a memlook is that an odalisque is a creature of the night. This is because she doesn’t work. A memlook is a creature of the day because memlooks are employed in labour: cooking, cleaning, domestic work. This is also true of freewomen. An odalisque’s work is sexual pleasure. She is a creature of leisure. It is normal for her to sleep for much of the day and to be active in her role at night – nighttime is the time for love. By keeping these hours she is kept away from the work-a-day world. To make her rise early is to treat her like a memlook, to treat her like something she is not.
Odalisques live at night while workers sleep. The Code insists upon this. It is important not to treat an odalisque like a memlook (a low slave). A Slavekeeper should not wake his slave up early like he would a work slave. Ordinarily, an odalisque will sleep to lunch time at least, and stay up until three or four in the morning. They are her natural hours.
In this respect, an odalisque keeps similar hours to a whore. Whores also are creatures of the night. Freewomen and memlooks are creatures of the day. Freewomen and memlooks work. Whores, too, are workers - workers of the night. Odalisques are not workers. They are preserved from toil.

Fighting against forced prostitution
Consistent with the ethics of consent and non-violence, the economic provisions of Code d’ Odalisque are directed against the abusive forms of modern slavery – human trafficking and forced prostitution.
Every year thousands of women are taken or lured into forced prostitution. The story of “Tanya” is typical. She was lured to Abu Dhabi with a promise of work. when she arrived in Abu Dhabi she was taken to a brothel where a pimp told her that he had bought her for $7000. From that moment on she was to work as a prostitute until she paid off her so-called debt. After three months of captivity, “Tanya” managed to escape. She bolted to a police station and recounted her story. Incredibly, she was charged with prostitution and sentenced to three years in a desert prison. In 2001, psychologically crushed and ashamed, she was released. Nothing happened to her pimp. Branded a prostitute by the Muslim nation, she was summarily deported back to her Ukraine.
There are thousands of women like “Tanya”.
Since Code d’ Odalisque makes a “game” and a “lifestyle” of sexual slave-play we cannot ignore the plight of real victims of real slavery. Slave play in Code d’ Ode is completely consensual. The economic aspects of the Code work to raise money to help combat forced prostitution.

The revision project
The written codifications that are Code d’ Odalisque were originally several different documents composed to meet certain circumstances and to serve the needs of a certain group of people. These documents were collected together and consolidated into the Code, a comprehensive set of rules defining every aspect of odalisque slavery. This collection was then revised and revised again. Many of the people who first wrote sections of it moved on and new people arrived. Over a decade or more now the Code has been revised and refined, and the process goes on.
The last public version, version 5, is available for free. It is much improved on version 3 – the previous public version - but still contains many errors and some problems. Moreover, there is now a growing community of active players living the odalisque lifestyle – their experience helps refine the Code even further.
The practice in the past has been for every second edition to be kept in the hands of the core “Keepers” of the Code. Version 4 was private. Version 5 was made public. This policy is being continued today. A new revision, a version 6, is in preparation and should be finished in the next few weeks. This will then be worked over by several long-term players led by Mr Charles Molyneux, Syndic of the Slavekeeper’s Guild. After final corrections, another version, a version 7 will be made available to the public.
It is hoped that version 7 will serve the needs of the growing Code community for many years. It is hoped that it will be the last major revision for a long time to come. Accordingly, the revision is especially thorough. All proposed changes are subject to debate – with a policy of not making changes unless they are absolutely necessary. We take the view: If it is not broken, don’t fix it. We do not want to lose the original inspiration of the Code. Mainly, our task is to amend spelling, grammar, vocabulary – technical matters. The forthcoming 7th edition will be essentially the same as the 5th. It will, however, come with appendices and annotations. We are hoping the 7th edition will be out later this year. Work is well advanced.
We would like to hear suggestions, criticisms and ideas from the public. We would appreciate constructive criticism. Please email us at: bedroomslaves@yahoo.com

Learning an art
10.40. - The right to attend to an art
An odalisque may, if she wishes, attend to one of the arts - singing, music, poetry, painting - in which case her Keeper shall supply her with whatever she needs to pursue the art and reach her full potential in it.
The odalisque's duties to her Master are simple and one-dimensional. She is a pleasure slave. Her duty is to provide pleasure. As a slave, it is not her duty to be a companion or to provide intellectual stimulation. A man should seek that from girlfriends, wives, partners, friends. An odalisque is for one purpose and one purpose only - pleasure. Sexual pleasure. In this capacity it is best if she is single-minded and uncomplicated. She provides her Master with sexual pleasure. That is all. Training of an odalisque includes methods of simplification and induced monomania.
Nevertheless, even the most active odalisque will not be providing sexual pleasure all day every day. In the leisured life of the odalisque there is ample free time. An odalisque fills such time with preening, grooming, exercise as well as sleep, lounging.
An odalisque may also pursue an art as part of her refinement. Most commonly, an odalisque learns a musical instrument. This can be for her Master's enjoyment, but an odalisque is not an entertainer all the same. The learning of an art is incidental to her role as odalisque. An odalisque fucks - playing piano is secondary.
The benefits of an odalisque attending to an art are many. Refinement, discipline, concentration, reflection. The art forms a contrapunctual relief from the one-dimensionality of the odalisque role. It is best if the art is not such that it unnecessarily complicates the slave. Usually it is best if it is an emotional rather than a cerebral art.
Some Slavekeepers require their slaves to keep a journal, and this may extend to a journal of drawings or poems etc. The learning of an art can be integrated into the odalisque's lifestyle in this way. In any case, the odalisque has a right - under the Code - to attend to an art, and her Master is obliged to supply her with the means to do so.

The Abused Submissive
From the beginning Code d’ Odalisque has been a response to situations in which submissive females feel misused, misunderstood, abused or violated. It is important to realize that this is a central part of the mission of Code d’ Ode – to provide a new deal for such women. We still receive emails from women telling the same story. They are submissive by nature and by temperament, and as such they find fulfillment in submitting to men. They are drawn to Dominant/submissive relationships. Unfortunately, though, this has brought them into contact with men who misunderstand or misuse submissive women. In particular, they have encountered men for whom dominant/submissive means sado/masochism. Submissive women often find themselves in S/M scenarios. Men assume that “submissive” means that they are turned on by pain, or that they want to be cooks and housecleaners. In reality, many sub women are sexual submissives. They like to be used, sexually. Their instinct is to give themselves – their sex – to men. This does not mean that they want to be spanked, whipped and have pegs put on their nipples. And it does not mean that they want to cook and clean all day.
Code d’ Odalisque is for women who are sexually submissive. But they respond to pleasure, not pain. They don’t want to be whipping bags, or housemaids, or objects of cruelty and degradation. They just want to be used, sexually. They are not volunteering for violence and abuse. They are volunteering to be used as a willing pleasure slave, used and instructed by a dominant, horny imaginative male. They don’t want to be tied up in a dungeon and caned. They want to be tied up in a bedroom and fucked long and slow in any way her Master chooses.
We hear from many women who have had very bad experiences in the BDSM scene. They have been beaten, whipped, scarred, brutalized by sadistic men. Advocates for the BDSM community often deny that this is a problem. Our experience is that it is a real problem. There are abused submissives.
Of course, some sub females respond to pain. They enjoy being trashed and tortured. But many sub females are sexually submissive – this doesn’t make them masochists. Such women often find themselves subject to violence. They are easy prey for sadistic men.
It is important not to confuse a “submissive” with a “masochist”. A masochist enjoys pain and degradation. As such, they are also “submissives”. But while all masochists are submissives, not all submissives are masochists. There are submissive women who do not respond to pain and degradation. They are often ill-treated. That is a fact.
Code d’ Odalisque offers a non-violent alternative for such sexually submissive women.

Presence
A key concept in odalisque training is PRESENCE. The slave is present, here, active, involved in the moment. Whores are not. A whore learns to dissociate. As her client fucks her she is somewhere else - she is not present. Cockslaves are not permitted to do this. They are not permitted to drift off and be vacant, unless this is a desired effect of intoxication. Even then, though, she is not permitted to let her mind wander onto irrelevant and inappropriate things. When a whore is sucking cock she may be thinking about buying a new pair of shoes. When an odalisque is sucking cock then she is thinking about sucking cock. Certainly there is a "zone" she may day-dream her way into but it is not full of trivia.
The main method by which presence is achieved in Code d' Odalisque is erotic mantra or chant. The chant is used to prevent the slave's mind wandering onto and dallying with trivia. Use the chant to prevent the usual flow of nonsense from flowing through the slave's mind.
It is this river of rubbish that flows through the mind that is the actual locus for cock obsession. All of us have this inner river of rubbish. If we stop concentrating for a moment we suddenly have automated thoughts about fragments of pop songs, old conversations, the gas bill, tomorrow's luncheon date, etc. The mind is utterly unruly and when we stop concentrating it is full of junk. Over time it is possible to arrest this river of junk and, at the same time, start replacing items of junk for other things. We can slow the river down and fill it with things we want to be there.
Use erotic chant to achieve this. The chant might be many things: "I love cock" or "I am my Master's cunt" or even just the word "Cock". It doesn't matter. Make the slave practice the habit of chanting a phrase or word. Make her do it until it starts to take hold on her mind. Eventually it will become a habit for her. Eventually whenever she day dreams her mind will be full of the phrase or word instead of the usual junk. When this happens then we may say that the slave is developing appropriately obsessive traits. Obsession. Monomania. We take control of the slave's mental river, slow it down, and turn it to cock obsession. It is this faculty of "river of rubbish" that is part of us all that allows obsession. In an obsessive, this river is full of only one thing. In the rest of us it is full of many things - this keeps us mentally fragmented. Challenge this in the slave. Challenge her to dedicate every thought to cockworship. Fill her mental river with cock. In an impressionable subject, erotic chant can act very deeply.
This is part of "unslutting" a slave. Neither the whore nor the slut are ever really "present" when they fuck. The whore is thinking about the money and the slut is already thinking about moving on. These habits of mind need to be trained out of the slave.
Note well, that in some few cases such psychological exercises can be disturbing to the subject. The mind resists. In that case, stop the practice and come back to it later. Trainers must always err on the side of caution. There can be a good deal of "mindfucking" in training an odalisque. Be warned that playing with the mind can sometimes be a dangerous undertaking. Go slowly. Assess progress along the way.

Walking
It is usually necessary to attend to the slave's walk. A slavewoman should be trained to walk in an elegant and graceful manner. Things that usually help:
*Make her imagine that she has a string holding her up like a puppet. The string is tied to the base of her spine, goes up her spine and out the crown of her head. This helps her to walk straighter and to correct slouching and poor posture.
*Make her take smaller steps. An odalisque doesn’t stride. Most slaves can improve their walk by taking slightly smaller steps. (But not tiny steps like a geisha.)
*Draw a line on the floor. Make her walk along the line with her heal on the line at every step. The female frame is made to walk on a single line. The male body (with its external genitals) is made to walk along two parallel lines. You can make your slave’s walk more *feminine* by training her to walk along a single line.
Attending to how the slave walks is a key element of her refinement. She should be graceful and refined sitting, standing, walking.

Why slaves?
Why does this form of play have to take the form of “slavery”? The idea of a “slave” is archaic and offensive. Why “slaves”?
No one laments the passing of the institution of chattel slavery. The slavery to which African Americans were subject, for example, was archaic and offensive. All of that is gone, and rightly so. Code d’ Ode should not be confused with that type of slavery. Private, consensual slavery (in a post-slavery context) is an entirely different thing. It is a mode of self-expression. But of course the idea of “slave” does still carries stigma for historical reasons, which is unfortunate.
The role of “slave” continues in other ways because it is – divorced from any economic institution or any particular manifestation in history – an expression of deep reverence. People will be “slaves” to things they revere. To be a “slave” is the ultimate surrender.
The idea of the odalisque grows out of a common sentiment found in many relationships – as an expression of surrender (and/or love) a woman cries, “Take me! Do what you want with me! I’II be your slave. I’II do whatever you want!”
This is a transcending passion. At first the woman is agreeable. Then she is enthusiastic. Then she is passionate. Then, finally, her passion transcends her self-regard, she surrenders all, and she is then “slave”.
The idea of “slave” then is a measure of commitment, passion, submission and surrender. If you want to surrender to someone to an extreme or transcending degree you are willing to be “slave”. Question: To what degree will you submit to me? Answer: I’II be your slave! – which means, total submission, extreme submission, submission to the Nth degree. What else do lovers mean when they say, “Take me, I’m yours!”?
To be an odalisque a woman needs to want more than just sex play. She needs a consuming passion. She is saying, “Not only do I want to be used for sex. More than that! More than that! I want to GIVE MYSELF – surrender! – and do whatever I’m asked to do.”
“Slave” is a condition of the heart. Consensual slavery is an act of reverence and submission. That is why an odalisque is a slave. It is not a designation intended to degrade her; rather it is a measure of her commitment and submission, the degree of her surrender. For want of a better word, it makes her a “slave”. She finds fulfillment in this.

La Fille
26.19. - The use of the nickname 'La Fille'
As a term of endearment, a Keeper may refer to his odalisque by the French la fille (girl) and employ it in the manner of a nickname. Only a slave's Keeper may use this form.
Examples of correct form:
La Fille! Your Keeper wants to see you.
Your Keeper wants your services tonight, La Fille!
One of the French elements of Code play is the use of the term “la fille” (pronounced la fee) as a nickname, a term of endearment and familiarity. A Slavekeeper will refer to his cockslave as “la fille”, as in the following scenario:
He thought for a moment, before turning his attention to his slave.
“La Fille,” he said, “I am endeavoring to organize guests for tomorrow night. I am letting you know. Mr Harris. Mr Cousins. I am having them around for dinner.”
“Oui,” said the slave meekly.
Only a Slavekeeper may refer to a slave in this way. It is a nickname exclusive to the Master/slave bond.

Qoola - slut slaves.
Question: What is a qoola? I still don’t understand what a qoola is. Can you give examples?
A qoola is a “slut slave” – a slave who is not attached to any particular Master but plays slave to many. She is trained as an odalisque and knows the etiquette and manners of an odalisque, but she moves between Masters. For example:
You are a Slavekeeper. A qoola meets you and is happy to be your slave for a weekend. Then she moves on. The next weekend she is slave to a different man. Or she might be your occasional slave, every few weekends. She acts the same as an odalisque and serves each Master in turn, but she is not fixed to a single Master.
An odalisque is servant to one man, her Master and Keeper. A qoola acts as servant to many Keepers. A slut slave.
Qoola are not encouraged in Code d’ Odalisque, but they are nevertheless covered by the rights and articles of the Code. A qoola is a student of the Code, is trained as an odalisque, knows the rules and commands of an odalisque, but does not have a permanent Master. A qoola deserves respect as a cockslave, but she is not as treasured as an odalisque who serves and is devoted to a Master.
The Master/slave relationship is pivotal in Code d’ Odalisque. Qoola violate this relationship. There is both safety and depth in a proper Master/slave relationship. Qoola are superficial. They miss a whole dimension of service. Nevertheless, qoola are a fact of life. The provisions of the Code allow for this reality.

An odalisque is to be used.
11.29. - Against neglecting to enjoy a cockslave
A Keeper shall not neglect to enjoy the services of his odalisque or fail to call her night after night but is obliged to put her to the uses to which she is devoted and trained on a regular basis.
An odalisque is to be used. It is no good owning an odalisque but never – or only rarely – putting her to use. If a man wants to own an odalisque then he must have in mind putting her to proper use, and he must be up to the task.
The fact is that many men fancy themselves as Keepers of an odalisque, but few men really have what it takes to put one to proper use. An odalisque is a sexual servant, a cockslave. Her purpose is to provide sexual pleasure and sexual adventure for her Master.
For a man to need an odalisque, he must have a serious need for sexual adventure. A man with only moderate or average libido does not need an odalisque. He would only use her every few nights, and then for a few minutes.
The average man has a puny libido that is easily satisfied, and his performance is pathetic – three or four minutes and he blows. Such a man would soon find that he neglects his odalisque and that most of the time she is idle and under-utilized. His fantasies are few and they are soon exhausted. In the end, he tires of sex and is bored by his odalisque’s readiness to fulfill his sexual dreams. His dreams are meager, his desires commonplace.
On the other hand, a man with a genuine need for an odalisque is a man with a stronger than average libido. He is a man with fantasies, a powerful imagination, intense desires, an itch that is not easily scratched.
Not every man needs an odalisque. Only men with a deep and irresistible drive for sexual exploration, a need to go beyond the ordinary, a drive for sexual excess. An odalisque is a luxury, an indulgence. Odalisques are for gentlemen who – secure in other aspects of their life – want to indulge their erotic fantasies. They will make good and proper use of an odalisque. Most nights. For hours, not minutes. And with imagination and creativity.
Gentlemen should ask themselves: Do I really need an odalisque? Am I really that horny? Would I put her to constant use? Or would I grow tired of her, like growing tired of a new toy? There are some men who are driven, obsessed, cunt-struck, perverse. Some men have desires and fantasies that nag and tear at them. Some men are sex crazy. Some men need pussy every day, several times a day. Are you really one of those men?
Nevertheless, in general it is hard for a man on his own to use an odalisque in an extensive way. Most nights. For hours, not minutes. But even then, under a vigorous and horny Master, this might only average to an hour a day. The fact is that women can fuck indefinitely but men – even the best of them - are quickly spent.
This is why, by default (and subject to consent), an odalisque is shared. One odalisque is too much for a single man. He cannot possibly fuck her enough. He will tire. Instead, he keeps her, trains her, uses her, and then he shares her with guests. Extensive and comprehensive use of an odalisque’s talents is usually only possible among a circle of gentlemen. It is normal in Code d’ Odalisque for a Slavekeeper to offer his slave to other gentlemen, that they might put her to more extensive use.
Owning an odalisque is like owning a luxury yatch. But most yatch owners can only go yatching every other weekend. Often they will let friends use the yatch to ensure that it is not just sitting idle at the docks. Similarly, a Slavekeeper will put his slave to proper use as often as he can, but there are plenty of times when she will be un-used – it is then usual for him to offer her services to other gentlemen who are not so fortunate as to own their own cockslave.
Code d’ Odalisque is pro-social. It aims to foster networks of Keepers, slaves and others. A single odalisque in full-time occlusion can service a circle of five or six gentlemen on a regular basis. The Code regulates her use by guests. She must be kept from harm and hurt, and a Keeper is responsible for the good conduct of his guests, but the Code also allows (and encourages) uninhibited sexual adventure. A woman becomes an odalisque because she wants to be used, she wants to serve. A Slavekeeper has an obligation to use her. In this, he should understand his own limitations. Men might be inclined to over-estimate their sexual requirements.
Where a man doesn't wish to share his slave, or a slave elects by contract not to be shared, then the Keeper must endeavour to put the slave to proper, constant use. This requires imagination, fantasy - and stamina.

Public modesty
10.29. – An odalisque's right to public modesty
An odalisque has a right to public modesty and shall not be required to perform sex acts in public places or be made notorious in public view.
Odalisque slavery happens in a private world. An odalisque is held in a state called “occlusion”, which means she is a captive, hidden from the world. She is to be enjoyed by her Keeper in private. She is a thing of mystery. She is kept secret, enjoyed behind closed doors.
This means that an odalisque should not be used for public display. She has a right to public modesty. She cannot be made to perform sex acts in public places or in public view. “Occlusion” means private. Sluts and whores are public women. An odalisque is a creature of the shadows, kept in a clandestine world of debauched but very private hedonism.
By extension, an odalisque is not a porn star and is not used for the production of pornography. As the Code says, she cannot “be made notorious in public view” – a prohibition that includes being “made notorious” through pornography. A Slavekeeper cannot turn his odalisque into a prostitute, and nor can he turn her into a porn star or exploit her to make money through pornography. Her right to live out of public view – a secret life far from prying and moralistic eyes – is fundamental. An odalisque, by definition, lives in a secret, private world.

Raunch culture
The enormous proliferation of pornography on-line is both a symptom of and a creator of modern hardcore raunch culture. While there are still plenty of puritans in the world, the modern era is characterized by free sexual expression – the sexual revolution has unleashed an era of sexual exploration.
This has its problems, though. One of them is that many women now find themselves under pressure to participate in male sexual fantasies. Men who spend their time watching porn very often project porn scenarios upon their wives or girlfriends. They expect their women to perform like porn stars. This is an ugly side of raunch culture. Porn stars become the model of sexual normality and women feel pressured to do for their men what porn stars do in movies.
The problem here is that pornography tantalizes male fantasies, stirs male libido, but the one institution we have to cater to male sexual needs – marriage – is not made for sexual adventure. A wife is not a porn star, or a whore. The wife’s role does not properly include providing debauched sexual adventure for her husband. Traditionally, at least, a wife was mother, homemaker, companion. If a man wanted things his wife wouldn’t provide he went to a prostitute. Today, as well as mother, homemaker, companion, a wife is expected to be an expert at deep throating, anal sex, gangbangs and threesomes.
Odalisque slavery is an answer to this problem. An odalisque is a female sexual servant, a slave class devoted to serving male sexual fantasy. An odalisque is a woman who has voluntarily devoted herself to that role. It is a role she loves and for which she has aptitude. As an obedient servant she is willing to be an accomplice in the fantasies of the men who are put over her. That is the service that odalisques provide. A man keeps an odalisque as a means to sexual adventure. An odalisque is a sexual outlet – a woman dedicated to selfless sexual service.
As such, odalisque slavery serves a raunch culture. Code d’ Odalisque looks back to the sophisticated and sensuous traditions of oriental slavekeeping, but its purpose is to serve contemporary raunch culture and modern hardcore tastes. Modern hardcore lifestyle – a world saturated in pornographic images, a world of hedonistic sexuality unrestrained by the taboos of the past – needs to be serviced by the institution of odalisque. Odalisque slavery is an alternative institution to marriage and prostitution.
There are women who can provide men the indulgence of their pornographic fantasies – they find fulfillment in this. But such women are rare. Most wives are not in this category. It is unreasonable for men to expect their wife to be as wildly sexual as a porn star. That is beyond the proper duties of a wife. Such men need cockslaves. An odalisque is trained in the provision of hardcore sex. That is her vocation. That is her profession.
Code d’ Odalisque re-invents the institution of odalisque. An odalisque is a sexual servant owned, nurtured and enjoyed by a gentleman Slavekeeper. The Code provides for a culture in which Slavekeepers share their slave with other gentlemen and friends. The odalisque, though owned by one man – who takes responsibility for her welfare - is a communal outlet. Ideally, an odalisque will service a network of gentlemen. The Slavekeeper is benevolent and generous. He keeps his odalisque for sexual service, for himself and his friends.
Code d’ Odalisque is a social code. It proposes a revival of the odalisque institution. In a society in which odalisque slavery operates, gentlemen treat their wives as wives and they use odalisques – cockslaves - for their debauchery and fantasy life. That is what an odalisque is for.
It may happen, of course, that a wife might make a good odalisque in some instances, but the role of ‘wife’ and the role of ‘sex slave’ are quite different all the same, and should not be confused. A wife is not naturally a sex slave or a porn star. The institution of marriage has its limitations. Marriage does not serve the full range of human sexual needs. This is why there are prostitutes, and why the institution of odalisque is needed to offer another, safe, consensual dimension to contemporary erotic life.
Question: How much would it cost to keep an odalisque in occlusion full-time for a year?
Question: How much would it cost to keep an odalisque in occlusion full-time for a year?
The total cost will depend upon many factors including the cost of living in the country in which you live. Living is more expensive in some places than in others, obviously. In the USA the cost can be compared to the estimated cost of keeping an adult dependent which, according to the Consumer Expenditure Index, is somewhere around $12-14,000. That is, just over $1000 per month. (This is based on monthly food - $200, medical = $100, housing = $500, transportation = $200, other = $200.) This is the cost of a modestly active middle class standard of living.
In fact, keeping an odalisque should be considerably cheaper because there are few transportation and clothing costs and, often, no direct accommodation outlays. An odalisque is a captive. Her needs are simple. Most of the time she is kept naked in one room. In most cases it should be possible to keep an odalisque very comfortably for little more than a baseline figure of $600 per month. Approximately.
There are additional expenses an odalisque will incur. These include:
Heating costs. Rooms need to be heated to be comfortable for a naked or semi-naked odalisque.
Water costs. Baths, showers, spas – an odalisque has high water needs. A man who owns an odalisque can expect a rise in his water bill.
Classes and tuition. Music lessons. Art lessons. Yoga lessons. French lessons. Membership at a gymnasium. A good Slavekeeper sends his slave to various classes as an adjunct to her training and service.
Health insurance. An odalisque should receive the best possible medical and dental care.
Food. The Code requires that a Slavekeeper feed his slave the same quality of food he enjoys. An odalisque enjoys a good, healthy diet – health foods can be expensive.
Note well that all costs follow from keeping the odalisque as a willing captive, free from toil. She adds no income. She is all cost.
Also note that she does not receive a wage or financial reward for her services – an odalisque is not a whore. Costs are incidental to what it costs to keep a captive slave, a high-class prisoner.
Depending on circumstances, for legal, taxation and accounting purposes an odalisque may be declared an adult dependent, which indeed she is. Like all captives she is dependent upon her captor. He incurs all the costs of her captivity.
Under Code d’ Odalisque an odalisque is entitled to a suitable degree of comfort, even luxury, appropriate to her status. An odalisque should not be kept in a slapdash manner. A gentleman should be prepared to pay a suitable sum for the proper care of such a rare treasure.
All financial arrangements made for the keeping of an odalisque must be transparent, above board and legal.

Mark of the odalisque
It is preferred that odalisques be free of tattoos – with the exception of her own mark. This is usually placed above the shaved pubis and is small and tasteful. It should be placed such that, if necessary, a woman can conceal it with pubic hair; it is visible when she is shaven. It should not be ostentatious or obvious. It is a small, tasteful mark signifying “odalisque”.
The traditional emblem of the odalisque is the red rose in thorns. Red is for passion, eroticism, sexuality. The rose is beauty, elegance, the fragrance of delight. The thorns are captivity. Any design consisting of a red rose in thorns can be used as emblematic of the odalisque.
Traditionally slaves were branded. Nowadays they are more likely to be tattooed.
Odalisque option
It so happens that some men are driven by their libido, cunt struck, sex-obsessed, perverse, hungry, lusting, demented with a maddening itch for extensive sexual pleasures. For such men, there are only a few options in life:
1. Live in denial. Repress your libido and try to ignore the incessant demands of your cock.
2. Marry and expect your wife to service this wild libido.
3. Marry and explore the wild side of your sexuality outside of marriage, i.e. cheat on your wife.
4. Hire whores
Another option is keeping an odalisque. This involves supporting a live-in consensual sexual slave. She is kept occluded, a sexual captive, trained to serve her Master’s bed with both abandon and obedience.
The whole purpose of an odalisque is to serve the exuberant sexual fantasies of the male libido. She is a cockslave. The Slavemaster keeps her captive to be used in the uninhibited exploration of his fantasies.
Odalisque slavery is tasteful, civil – but it is nevertheless about hardcore sex. A man owns an odalisque because he really must – must! – explore the call of his libido. She is a tool in this personal quest.
Code d’ Odalisque regulates odalisque slavery and sets the limits of play. Within those limits a Slavekeeper may use an odalisque for sexual exploration and fantasy projection. That is what she is for. The limits are broad – although always subject to consent and safety. A woman who enters odalisque slavery must expect to be used in male fantasy in all its phallic depravity.
Keeping an odalisque may be the better option for some men in some circumstances. Keeping a female sexual servant, a sexual captive, might be a better more honest option than a wife or whore. If you are going to treat your wife as a sex slave anyway, or a whore you are paying to be your sex slave anyway, why not just own a sex slave and enjoy her as you please when you please?
The fact is that "sexual slave" is what some men - many men - long women to be. What a man really wants is a completely compliant cock-mad partner in his sexual fantasies. If that is the case, a man should acquire an odalisque and use her to satisfy his itch.

Labour
An odalisque is not a work slave. She is not a laborer. She is not a domestic slave. When a woman becomes an odalisque she is free of all menial obligations – her only duty is to be a compliant sex-toy to her Master. Sex is her work. Being beautiful is her work. She is not a maid or a cook or a cleaner.
This is one of the differences between an odalisque and a low slave (memlook). An ordinary slave, male or female, can be commanded to work, cook, clean. An ordinary slave can be used for a wide range of things, including degrading chores.
An odalisque is “higher” than an ordinary slave. She is a specialized slave. She is kept from toil so that her beauty can be preserved for purely erotic use. She does not cook or clean. She is protected from common labours and instead devoted to the provision of sexual pleasure.
In the past, being made an odalisque was a great good fortune for a female slave. Ordinary slaves live harsh lives of labor and toil. Slavetraders would select the most beautiful female slaves to serve the beds of wealthy Slaveowners. An odalisque lives a pampered life by comparison to low slaves. She is kept and preserved like a rare treasure, living in luxury, devoted exclusively to sex.
In sex, an odalisque is submissive and compliant. Her “work” consists in being a willing toy in the fantasies and adventures of her Slavemaster. She will be and do whatever he wants. She is an obedient object of lust and beauty.
It is important in Code d’ Odalisque that an odalisque not be treated as a memlook. She should not be required to work or do domestic chores. In fact – paradoxically – all her cleaning and meal needs are met by others. She need do none of that for herself. A Slavekeeper must hire a maid or he must cook and clean for his odalisque himself. This is the “service paradox” – he serves her, even though she is the slave. It is only in sex that she serves. Her Master can make extensive and uncompromising use of her sexually, but he cannot use her as a housecleaner or a cook. This is the very nature of odalisque slavery.
If a gentleman wants his wife to be his odalisque he must first relieve her of all her domestic chores and then he can dedicate her to sexual service. An odalisque is a dedicated sexual slave. Under Code d’ Odalisque she is protected from whoredom – her Master cannot pimp her – and she is protected from memlookery. She is a thing of beauty and desire - she cannot be used as a drudge.

Absinthe
The word "wine" in Code d' Odalisque may refer to any drink or recreational inebriants that a Slavekeeper prefers. Code d' Odalisque is essentially hedonistic. It is about pleasure. Alcohol and drugs are traditional accompaniments to sensual indulgence. The traditional inebriants associated with odalisque slavery are absinthe and hashish.
