Sexual Creativity

The whole purpose of Code d’ Odalisque is to provide a framework for creative (male dominant) sexuality. The only reason a man might need an odalisque is because he wants to use her for the exploration of sexual pleasure. The odalisque puts herself at the disposal of a man – her Master – so that he can use her for sexual experimentation. If all a man wants is regular missionary sex, he doesn’t need an odalisque. An odalisque provides him with an opportunity to explore beyond the usual, to taste new pleasures. That is what an odalisque is for. Code d’ Odalisque is an erotic adventure, an arena for sexual creativity.

One problem with this is that the contemporary male is often very short on creativity. This is largely because the contemporary erotic imagination is almost entirely shaped by pornography. Code d’ Ode is for highly sexual men – highly sexual men today are almost certain to be regular purveyors of pornography. As we all know, the internet is saturated with pornography; it has never been more readily available, and huge numbers of men (and women) enjoy watching it. Porn is big, big business. And it shapes contemporary erotic behaviour. This is a well-established fact, backed up by numerous studies. Increasingly, husbands want their wives to do things they’ve seen done in porn movies. Often, customers of prostitutes will open their laptops to show a porn flick and ask “Will you do that?”

This can both stimulate but also deaden sexual creativity. Porn offers men a pool of new ideas. But also porn is, after all, a confection; it is (usually) staged sex and therefore contrived and formulaic. Porn exposes the wide variety of human sexual behaviour, but it is also true that nine out of ten porn movies are entirely predictable and are anything but creative. Your typical porn flick follows a basic pattern. Girl sucks dick. Guy fucks her butthole. Guy cums on her face. And variations thereupon. This is why porn gets awfully boring after a while and why the thrill of it wears off. Most films follow standard formulae. Seen one, you’ve seen ‘em all.

It is important for Slavekeepers who are blessed with the services of a willing odalisque to realise that an odalisque is not a pornstar. A Slavekeeper should not treat his odalisque as if she is his private pornstar. And he should look beyond porn for inspiration and ideas as to how to enjoy her. Slavekeepers should ask themselves, ‘To what extent is my sexual imagination being shaped by pornography?’ It is all very well to enjoy porn and to find new ideas and stimulation in porn, but a Slavekeeper should not let it control his sexual imagination and his erotic response. Rather, he should look into his own inner resources for his sexual imagination. He should shape his own sexual creativity.

An odalisque is raw material, putty in a Slavekeeper’s hands. Within the limits set by her Contract of Submission and by the slave Code, she is his to use and enjoy. It would be a waste to use such a treasure to merely replay scenes in common porn flicks. A Keeper should be more creative than that. Slave play should rise above the level of porn. For a Slavekeeper, owning a willing odalisque is a chance for deep, honest self-exploration, a chance for a man to explore the wide dimensions and subtle pleasures of the erotic. Porn offers erotic clichés. The challenge for gentlemen involved in odalisque slavery is to bring a new spirit of real sexual creativity to a contemporary sensibility increasingly saturated and deadened with porn.
