An odalisque is not a work slave. She is not a laborer. She is not a domestic slave. When a woman becomes an odalisque she is free of all menial obligations – her only duty is to be a compliant sex-toy to her Master. Sex is her work. Being beautiful is her work. She is not a maid or a cook or a cleaner.

This is one of the differences between an odalisque and a low slave (memlook). An ordinary slave, male or female, can be commanded to work, cook, clean. An ordinary slave can be used for a wide range of things, including degrading chores.

An odalisque is “higher” than an ordinary slave. She is a specialized slave. She is kept from toil so that her beauty can be preserved for purely erotic use. She does not cook or clean. She is protected from common labours and instead devoted to the provision of sexual pleasure.

In the past, being made an odalisque was a great good fortune for a female slave. Ordinary slaves live harsh lives of labor and toil. Slavetraders would select the most beautiful female slaves to serve the beds of wealthy Slaveowners. An odalisque lives a pampered life by comparison to low slaves. She is kept and preserved like a rare treasure, living in luxury, devoted exclusively to sex.

In sex, an odalisque is submissive and compliant. Her “work” consists in being a willing toy in the fantasies and adventures of her Slavemaster. She will be and do whatever he wants. She is an obedient object of lust and beauty.

It is important in Code d’ Odalisque that an odalisque not be treated as a memlook. She should not be required to work or do domestic chores. In fact – paradoxically – all her cleaning and meal needs are met by others. She need do none of that for herself. A Slavekeeper must hire a maid or he must cook and clean for his odalisque himself. This is the “service paradox” – he serves her, even though she is the slave. It is only in sex that she serves. Her Master can make extensive and uncompromising use of her sexually, but he cannot use her as a housecleaner or a cook. This is the very nature of odalisque slavery.

If a gentleman wants his wife to be his odalisque he must first relieve her of all her domestic chores and then he can dedicate her to sexual service. An odalisque is a dedicated sexual slave. Under Code d’ Odalisque she is protected from whoredom – her Master cannot pimp her – and she is protected from memlookery. She is a thing of beauty and desire - she cannot be used as a drudge.
