The Importance of Purchase (Repost)

Couples in a Master/slave relationship will usually just agree upon the terms of that relationship or, at most, draw up a contract setting out the terms and limits of play. In Code d' Odalisque there is a contract system, too, but there is also a method by which a slave is “purchased” by a Master.

Needless to say, the real buying and selling of people is completely illegal and it must be stressed that Code d' Ode is a consensual game/lifestyle that in no way condones or legitimizes human trafficking. But for the purposes of slave play a slave is purchased, not taken freely.

This is important and it is one of the things that makes a slave a slave. A slut gives herself away for free. A whore is for rent. But a slave is purchased. Odalisques should be purchased. To take an odalisque for free is to treat her as a common slut and an insult to her. An odalisque should be proud of the fact that she is an odalisque and proud that she was purchased and not taken for free. Every odalisque has a slave price. Odalisque's are expensive items.

But, while the slave price prevails in theory, in practice these days the slave price is routinely commuted to alms. That is, the slaveprice is turned into charity. The requirement of purchase can be met in that way, and in fact this is how it is now done in every case. For legal reasons, no money can change hands. Instead, the slaveprice is converted into charity.

The Code d' Odalisque sets out the provisions for this. The Purchaser (Slavekeeper) must make a donation to a specific charity. This acts as the sale. It is only when he has made such a donation that his ownership and use of an odalisque is legitimate. The appropriate charities are those dedicated to fighting female genital mutilation and forced prostitution. The Slavekeeper makes a donation to the charity – this acts as the slaveprice.

See the Code for details. But it is important to understand the principle. By definition, slaves are purchased. In Code d' Ode we are always careful to distinguish slaves from sluts and whores. It is the slaveprice that makes a slave a true slave and not just a slut or a whore. It is the slaveprice that bestows the dignity of slavehood upon the slave. Odalisque is a noble institution. Paying for an odalisque is an important gesture that recognizes the nobility of the odalisque institution. To fail to pay for the ownership of an odalisque is an abuse and degrades the institution.

Again, gentlemen are urged to grasp the principle and consult the Code for details. Don't treat a slave like a slut.

A slut gives herself away for free.
A whore is for rent.
A slave is purchased.

These distinctions are fundamental to Code d' Odalisque.

On male sexual fantasy

One of the reasons Code d’ Odalisque is so detailed and so particular about regulating the role of Slavekeeper is that it is founded upon realistic insights into male sexuality. In the real world not all guys are sensitive, docile, harmless. The Code aims to provide a web of protection for sexually submissive females who, otherwise, often fall victim to violent and abusive men. The Code is designed to put off women haters and psychopaths. But, more generally, there is the reality of a man’s inner turmoil to be considered. Not all guys are simple, well-adjusted do-gooders. In fact, most men are complex creatures with varying amounts of inner rage, insecurity, uncertainty, egoism, self-hatred and sexual ambivalence. That is, the sexuality of most guys is anything but simple, and it is the whole purpose of Code d’ Ode to provide an arena in which a gentleman can explore and discover his sexuality with the aid of a willing slave.

So an odalisque offers herself - her body - to a man and gives him permission to use her in her personal erotic explorations. We cannot pretend that this might take many men on a journey into confusion and darkness. His slave is willing to be the woman of his most secret fantasies. What dark secrets does he have? What secret desires? What perversities will he impose upon his slave in his quest for self fulfillment? An odalisque’s life is not all hot spas and massages. The whole reason for owing an odalisque is to explore a level of sexual intensity only a willing cockslave can provide. So an odalisque’s life can be sexually intense. A Slavekeeper may be sexually demanding. There may be all sorts of dark secrets and perverse dreams lurking in his subconscious and which owning a cockslave will bring to light. Slavekeepers can use their slave to penetrate into the hidden corners of his erotic nature. Owning an odalisque is a journey in search of exquisite pleasures, but that search inevitably leads a man to confront his sexuality, to ask “What is it that I really, really want? This quest will lead a Slavekeeper far beyond vanilla missionary sex. An odalisque can - and should - be used to explore beyond the usual boundaries. Otherwise, why have an odalisque? An odalisque allows for an exploration of male sexual fantasy. That’s her purpose.

But male sexual fantasy can be a strange and murky world. That is the fact of it. And so, accordingly, Code d’ Odalisque is quite specific in setting limits and parameters for slave play and making the duties of Master and slave perfectly clear. This is why slaves have an Overmistress and why there is such an emphasis on safety throughout the Code. This is why there is a flexible contract system written into the Code. The Code regulates because, in sex, we are dealing with real and potent forces. Sex is an area of psychological sensitivity. Some people get a bit weird when it comes to sex. Code d’ Ode offers a situation that is potentially dangerous. A young, erotic female offers herself as a willing sex toy to a man and is bound to obey him and to tend to his whims. There is potential here for guys to take their slaves into dark places, into the stranger dimensions of male sexuality. This is OK, but the Code is at pains to protect the slave from abuse. The reality is that not all guys are living sweetness. Many aspects of the male sexual response have to do with power, domination and even degradation. Such things can be explored in Code d’ Odalisque, but only within the set limits. Such as no sado-masochism. Some men feel an inner rage towards women. They get off on slapping a woman around or inflicting pain on her. That has no place in Code d’ Ode. But within the set limits, a gentleman can certainly explore themes of control, obedience. He can turn his slave into a cock-obsessed sexual servant who wants to be used as a cunt. He can take her into wild, lewd, outrageous scenes. Make no mistake ñ an odalisque can be used for very wild, very outrageous sexual adventures. But she is protected from brutality.

Sexual energies are potent. The Code attempts to create a framework for safe play where the odalisque is protected from brutality but where there is still the freedom for a Slavekeeper to explore his libido. The Code recognizes a tendency in male sexuality towards the animalistic and the brutal. The Code regulates Slavekeepers and imposes a code of chivalry and decency upon them to try to mitigate and soften these brutal tendencies. The Slavekeeper must find ways to explore his most secret fantasies within the framework of play set by the Code. In short, we recognize that males are a bit brute-like and so they need the Code to keep them civilized.

Self-control and self-understanding are two vital traits in good Slavekeepers. A man must know what hornet’s nest of desires and dreams he is stirring up. He must be prepared to confront those things within him which might be dangerous if he let them out of control. Is there inner rage he won’t acknowledge? Does he harbor a secret hatred for women? Maybe even - Is he still in love with his Mom? When a man buys an odalisque he sets out on a journey of discovery, uncovering elements of his own sexuality, following his imagination, seeking a confrontation with that all-sexual cock-crazy “fantasy female” within. An odalisque is there to help him on this journey. That is the whole process of fantasy projection. The Code attempts to create a safe, civil, courteous environment in which the process of “fantasy projection” - a potent and deep exploration of heterosexual male eroticism - can take place.

Vow of Devotion (Repost)

5.9. - Vow of Devotion

Once she is bound and washed an odalisque is required to make a Vow of Devotion under threat of the sword. She shall be held forcibly, made to kneel and forced to expose the back of her neck to a sword wielded by whatever man is officiating. The position of kneeling, head forward and down and with the back of the neck exposed is the essential physical pose illustrating the cockslave's submission.

When a freewoman consents to enter life as an odalisque she makes a Vow of Devotion. This is usually done “under the sword”. The woman is naked on her hands and knees, her hair thrown forward, head down, the nape of her neck exposed. The Slavetrader (or the man presiding) places the cold steel of his sword on the back of her neck in an implicit threat of beheading. In this position he makes her give her Vow of Devotion. This consists of a series of assertions. The Trader says to her:

“Say: I am a cock slave!”

In response the woman says, “I am a cockslave”

The Trader says:

“Say: I am a cunt to be fucked!”

In response the woman says, “I am a cunt to be fucked!”

And so on.

Code d’ Odalisque includes a generic Vow of Devotion that can be used, but players should feel free to write their own Vow and to make it a creative feature of the woman’s initiation into the odalisque’s life.

These same Vows can also be included in later sessions of training or play. From time to time it is advisable to make a slave repeat her Vow of Devotion. It will remind her of her initiation (discalcing).

The intention of the Vow, it should be noted, is to dedicate the woman to cockworship – for this is what defines an odalisque and what sets her apart from other slaves. An odalisque is dedicated to serving male sexuality, and specifically phallic sexuality. She makes a vow to serve and worship cock. That is, she swears to be a sexual slave, serving male (phallic) sex, a cockslave. This is what makes her an odalisque. An odalisque is sworn to cockworship, and she does this through her Vow of Devotion. Article 5.11 of the Code explains:

5.11. - Intent of the Vow of Devotion

The intent and purpose of the odalisque's Vow of Devotion is to pledge herself to Cock Worship and devotion and service to the Phallus and to obedience to the men who are placed over her. It is the Vow of Devotion, above all, that makes her a sexual slave as distinct from any other type of slave.
